"Sports were a large part of my childhood and teenage years. My love of fitness directed me in pursuing education at Laurentian University. I completed an Honours Degree in Physical and Health Education in 1995. My educational studies and interest in rehabilitation led me to pursue further education and a career in Physiotherapy. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto in 1999. In practice, my focus is on orthopedic conditions (spine, joint, muscle conditions) with special interest in foot/ankle conditions. I work with people of all ages and believe that each persons condition is unique. There are many variables involved and a plan of rehabilitation must be safely suited to each individual for greatest success. I take great pride in the services and the environment that our clinic offers.

When I am not in the office, my time is spent with my wife and two daughters. In keeping with my lifelong love of sport, I now focus on golf. In spare time, I can be found walking the fairways of Barrie and area golf courses."

Tony Dombroskie, BSc(PT)

Registered Physiotherapist

Tony Dombroskie is a practicing Physiotherapist at Mapleview Physiotherapy. After Tony graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, he practiced in the Ottawa Valley area before moving to Barrie in 2004. Prior to becoming co-owner of Mapleview Physiotherapy, Tony has practiced at an area clinic for 11 years.

Growing up Tony played competitive hockey and competed at the Canadian Junior championships in golf. He experienced a shoulder injury as a teenager and was introduced to physiotherapy at that time. With his love of sport and interest in rehabilitation, physical therapy was a perfect fit.

Through his class and clinical experiences he was pointed in the direction of orthopedics where he has been in private practice for the past 20 years.

“It is essential to determine the underlying cause of the injury/condition to treat it effectively.  That is why I have taken several orthopedic post graduate courses over the years.  Furthering my knowledge and experience allows me to better serve my patients.  I truly enjoy working with people and there is nothing more rewarding than a patient thanking me for getting them back to what they enjoy.”
